Pregnancy Wellness

We offer acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, Reiki, as well as other mind-body modalities to help support your pregnancy. We believe it’s important to take care of yourself during pregnancy since your health and state-of-mind can directly affect the health of your baby. Acupuncture can help to balance out your hormones, calm your sympathetic nervous system, and improve blood flow & circulation. Our treatments aim to relax your mind and body, reduce stress, prepare for an easier labor, and to address any issues you may be experiencing.

Acupuncture During Pregnancy:

1st Trimester

- During the 1st trimester, we focus on preventing miscarriage, alleviating fatigue, morning sickness, reducing stress and boosting energy. This is when the embryo turns into a fetus and is going through rapid growth and changes so we want to set a healthy foundation for the next few months.

2nd Trimester

– This trimester is typically considered the ‘honeymoon’ trimester. Morning sickness is usually gone by this stage as well as the intense fatigue. During this time we can treat any pain you might be experiencing including back pain, muscle aches, sciatica, fatigue/low energy, as well as stress and anxiety.

3rd Trimester

– We continue to address any pain, edema, acid reflux, anxiety or stress you might have but the focus now is to prepare your body for labor and delivery. If your baby is in breech presentation, we can help her turn (this is best done between weeks 32-36).
